I was sent a message this morning from a friend. She thought I might enjoy this gratitude challenge which of course I am all for!!! So here are my 5 photo’s that represent what I am grateful for today!
The first thing I am grateful for today is that we live 5 minutes from the beach! We spend so much time there in the summer not to mention almost all of my summer photo sessions have been there!

I had the absolute pleasure this afternoon of doing a photoshoot with one of my very best friends growing up. Anna and I are were inseparable as kids!! We even lived together when we both first moved away from home. Well it’s hard for me to believe that we are all grown up with our own families sometimes! Her family is just gorgeous!!!

This is her daughter Kate. Isn’t she adorable!!!! Her eyes are stunning!

“Over 400 Canadian families have had their dreams of adopting a child
internationally shattered. Imagine Adoption, a Canadian adoption agency that facilitates international adoptions declared bankruptcy on July 14, 2010. You can read more here

The families that have been impacted by the bankruptcy of Imagine Adoption have started a petition to demand that the government take action to ensure that every family have the opportunity to complete their adoption and bring their children home.”

Please please take a moment to sign this petition and hopefully get these beautiful children home with their families!!! Sign here

I am going to be running a monthly contest where I will choose my favourite picture from the month and feature it here on my blog! Each selection will then be entered to win my picture of the year contest! The winner will be chosen by a vote from my blog and facebook friends. The winner will receive an 11×14 canvas of their image and a $100 credit to be used towards a future session! This idea was totally inspired by one of my favourite photogs!
Since I am starting a little late in the year ;-) And because I could not choose just one image, I am choosing two!! Hopefully I can choose two per month and that way I will have 12 images and I can hold the yearly contest at Christmastime! Oh and don’t feel left out if you have had a session with me previously. I will be pulling out some pictures from previous sessions. Only for this year!

This first image is of Lisa and her girls!! I adore the emotion in the picture. Being mother myself I can feel exactly what Lisa feels here for her beautiful girls!!! I love it!!!!

This next one is of Baby Mari!! I chose it because of the “awwwwwww” factor!

I had the pleasure of photographing the most lovely baby this evening. She was a dream. She slept through multiple changes and she posed like a little model!!

This shoot almost didn’t happen. We arranged to meet at the beach this morning but when we got there the police had everything blocked off and were not letting anyone through. I stopped to talk to them and they told me the storm we had last night had done alot of damage and the beach was closed for a few days while they cleaned it up :( Luckily they were nice enough to let us park there and walk down so we could get our shoot done!
This is just a very small sample of the damage that was done. I counted at least 6 trees that were knocked. Really old trees! It was very sad actually.

Ok now on to the shoot!!

Well I am ready to get some really large pictures of my kids printed on canvas! But I want them to be special. I want the pictures I choose to make me fill up with emotion. Yesterday I got this one of Jayden and everytime I look at it I get tears in my eyes so I know it’s the right one!blogJaydenBW
